Our history

Steeped in history, the house was built in 1857 by the esteemed Bonthrone family, who also founded Newton Brewery centuries ago.

Many original features from its glorious past still grace the interior, creating an ambiance of timeless elegance and charm.

As you explore the charming village of Falkland, just a short stroll away, you'll discover traditional inns, restaurants, gift shops, and craft boutiques. The famed Falkland Palace, a historical gem and former residence of Mary, Queen of Scots, beckons you to wander its grounds and admire its rich heritage.

Our strategic location places us within easy reach of St Andrews, Edinburgh, Perth, Stirling, and Dundee, making it the perfect base to explore the wonders of Scotland.

At Newton Manor House, we take pride in providing a superior home-away-from-home experience. Whether you seek relaxation in the secluded gardens or indulge in the luxury of hiring a hot tub from our friends at Fife Hot Tubs for your stay, which can be set up and ready for your arrival, we cater to your every need. Additionally, high-class caterers available upon request.
